For The Container Store, performance has never been an afterthought. As a retailer known for efficiency and organization, the brand has long recognized that its digital experience must meet the same standard. With a growing eCommerce business, dozens of third-party integrations, and rising security threats, delivering a fast and reliable storefront became both more complex and more critical.
That challenge is what first brought The Container Store to Yottaa nearly a decade ago. What began as a focused effort to improve site speed and security has since evolved into a strategic partnership that now underpins the brand’s entire digital delivery layer.
Over the years, The Container Store expanded its performance footprint as its site grew more sophisticated. Bot traffic increased, third-party services multiplied, and the need for consistent uptime became non-negotiable. Rather than managing speed, delivery, and security as separate concerns, the team prioritized an integrated approach that could scale without adding operational burden.
In early 2025, that strategy culminated in a full migration to Yottaa Web Performance Services (WPS). By moving to a fully managed edge infrastructure built on Fastly Edge Cloud, HUMAN Security, and Yottaa Web Performance Cloud, The Container Store unified performance optimization, content delivery, and protection into a single managed service.
The results speak for themselves. Today, the site consistently delivers an average page load time of 2.49 seconds, with Core Web Vitals firmly in the “Good” range, including a Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) of 2.05 seconds and an Interaction to Next Paint (INP) of 128 milliseconds. Roughly 90% of requests are served at the edge, significantly reducing origin load and helping the site stay responsive during periods of high traffic and operational change.
Security outcomes have been just as meaningful. In a single recent week, 32 million requests were routed through HUMAN, with 3.9 million blocked as malicious or suspicious, all without introducing friction for real shoppers. Automated defense is now a foundational layer of The Container Store’s digital stability — not a reactive measure.
Just as important, the shift to a managed model has reduced day-to-day overhead for internal teams. Yottaa’s technical experts handle ongoing tuning, caching updates, and diagnostics, allowing The Container Store’s developers and operations teams to stay focused on initiatives that drive business value.
